John Reid This whole album is pretty amazing, but one song that stands out stronger than the rest in my opinion. Is, without a doubt, Quark; the perfect mix of everything I love in metal. Heavy while at the same time melodic guitar riffs accompanied by soothingly deep vocals with some amazingly structured lyrics and timing by the beautiful and talented Aleksandra Radosavljevic, with the right level of growls from the supporting vocalists. It is truly a masterpiece of a song. Favorite track: Quark.

Dan Maharry An interesting experiment to retool an entirely instrumental album with vocals on all tracks. Occasionally the additions work. Occasionally not. Quark is blinder though. Favorite track: Quark.

Andrew Triplett Having the Vocals this time around COMPLETELY changes the entire dynamic of the original, all instrumental GREAT Album. Still great though, but takes getting used to. At 1st I'd be getting into a favorite part... & then... WHAT!? VOCALS!? haha. I think that by adding vocals, they have taken the album in 2 MAJOR directions. No more what if's about vocals, now there are the best of both worlds! Great Idea guys! I recommend getting BOTH CDs to get the ENTIRE SPECTRUM & POTENTIAL of this album. Favorite track: The Peter Pan Complex.

about

"The Return of Inertia Vocalist Re-Release" is a massive collaboration featuring vocalists and instrumentalists from around the globe, who were recruited by OTS and asked to write record themselves over assigned tracks from "The Return of Inertia."

The idea was to experiment with different vocal styles while also drawing attention to the talent and creativity these underground artists were capable of.

The music reminds us a bit of Steve Vai's Passion and Warfare and Flexible as well as early Meshuggah. Jazzy, Bluesy notes tuned low with some hard metal riffs and structure to give it the power it has.

Fans of Animals as Leaders, Cloudkicker, Pink Floyd, Uneven Structure and Steve Vai should like this album

Tracks of Note:
Quark
The Peter Pan Complex
